Favorite chocolate cookies 1 c. butter or margarine, softened 1-1/2 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp. Vanilla extract 2 c. all-purpose flour 2/3 c. baking cocoa ¾ tsp. Baking soda ¼ tsp. Salt 1 pkg. (12oz) vanilla or white chips ½ c. chopped pecans, optional In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chips and pecans if desired. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 min. or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool. Yield: 4-1/2 dozen.
